Personal experiences of counselling and psychotherapy
Therapy helps me through
I’ve been to see a counsellor three times in my life. The first time was on the NHS and via my GP when I was feeling down. It was good, but I had to wait for several months to be seen. I also saw a lovely older lady from Cruse, the bereavement charity, who visited me a few times when my husband died suddenly. Now, I still see a local lady who I started seeing when I moved to this village and I talk to her about everything that’s going on in my life. It helps me to get my worries in perspective and I always feel better when I’ve been. Other people go to the hairdressers – I go to see a therapist.
