About me and my therapy practice

I'm a BACP-registered therapist based in Thames Ditton, Surrey (with a direct 30-minute train service to London Waterloo). I also see clients in London by special arrangement and work with distant and international clients on Skype or FaceTime. I offer both short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy in a warm, supportive environment, where you can talk over your concerns freely. I work integratively, bringing together aspects of different therapies, eg CBT, person-centred & psychodynamic, all tailored to your individual needs. My Background: I studied Psychology at HuIl and Loughborough Universities, before working in occupational psychology. I then joined Cosmopolitan magazine to set up a raft of personal development courses for readers, such as management development, assertiveness training, life planning and sexuality. I then enjoyed a career in the media before specialist training as a psychotherapist at Roehampton University. I have since worked as a counsellor & psychotherapist in the NHS, at Kingston Hospital, and in the voluntary sector (addiction) and am now in private practice. I often write or am quoted in carefully chosen press. I do this to spread the word about the benefits of therapy and to tackle any remaining stigma head-on, as well as to widen my client base. However, you can rest assured that I never write or talk about my clients. PLEASE VISIT MY WEBSITE FOR FULL DETAILS: www.therapyonthames.co.uk
