I practice and teach Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and this is the main focus of my work; change can come through acceptance, as well as understanding. We can be gentle, rather than judgmental with our fears and failings and may find that life becomes kinder in response to this. My counselling work is relational - it changes and develops around you, the client. We will follow your direction and make a steady, safe place to explore what matters to you. This may be a practical issue which needs sorting now - such as a relationship or work problem, or an event in the past such as a loss or bereavement. You may have low self-esteem, be feeling anxious or depressed – or simply want to get more out of your life, to work out a clear direction you’d like to go. And sometimes where we start will lead to quite a different place which is important too.
