Based in Harrow, I am an understanding and supportive counsellor and psychotherapist with many years’ experience of helping adults and children deal with difficulties that are causing them emotional distress, anxiety, panic or depression. I provide a confidential environment where you can feel safe in sharing your problems and worries and where we can work together either on a brief or longer term basis to identify a way forward through your challenges. Therapy with me involves an integrative approach which is adapted to your needs and which is both reflective and active. This means at times I will encourage you to think deeply about various aspects of your difficulties and their particular meanings for you and at other times you will be invited to take a more active approach to practising different ways of being, thinking and responding.
I have particular experience in helping clients work through interpersonal difficulties in various contexts, losses, traumatic experiences, addictions, personality disorders, behavioural problems in children, abuse and bullying. My background makes me well placed to understand the complexity of issues faced by minority clients especially those from South Asia. I speak English, French, Urdu and Hindi and am a registered and accredited member of my professional body, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) following its code of ethics and professional practice guidelines.
