BACP Register
The BACP Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists registers therapists who have met our standards for entry. It is important you feel confident that the counsellor or psychotherapist you choose will provide you with a quality service.
The Register aims to support public protection by:
- Setting and monitoring standards for therapy practice
- Ensuring all registrants are signed up to a professional conduct process and ethical framework
- Producing guidance to help you understand the professional conduct process and when it is appropriate to make a complaint.
The register holds details of all its registrants, and you can search here to see if your therapist is on the Register.
Some therapists will also be listed on Find a therapist; our online directory of therapists in private practice. This will give you more detail about the work of individual therapists and enable you to find a therapist that you can approach directly.
On Find a therapist, registered members will display the registered logo.
BACP members who hold BACP accreditation will display the accredited logo.
