Is Male Grief a Fait Accompli? Have you worked with men’s grief as a male bereavement counsellor?

If so, would you like to take part in a research study, investigating what is the lived experience of men’s grief from a male counsellor’s perspective?

My name is Ryan J. Timmis, I am a qualified counsellor and student at Staffordshire University, studying MSc Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

What is this study about?

This study intends to explore men’s grief following a life changing ‘loss’ from a male counsellor’s perspective. There may then, by looking at men’s grief, stimulate useful insights into emerging themes and inform grief practice and/or training.

The study will require one hour of your time, taking part in a semi-structured interview exploring men’s grief. How you understand and worked with men’s grief. How you utilise personal experience in the therapy room.

Who can participate?

  • Be over 18 years of age and male.
  • Be a qualified, practicing bereavement counsellor.
  • Must reside in the UK.

If you meet the above criteria and are interested in sharing your experience, please contact me on my university email address:

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.
