About me and my therapy practice

If you've got to this stage of looking for a counsellor you've probably already made the first step of what can sometimes be one of the hardest decisions around wanting things to change, by reaching out and looking for some help and support.

Being able to talk to someone and explore and work things through in your own way can really help, and as a therapeutic counsellor I can offer this to you, within a non-judgmental, safe, confidential and supported space.

The type of counselling I practice is a talking therapy based around an integrated model of relational depth. This incorporates a Person Centred and Gestalt approach that focusses on emotions, feelings, body language and patterns of relating.

TRAINING

CPCAB Level 5 Psychotherapeutic Counselling

CPCAB Level 4 Therapeutic Counselling

Post grad Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling

Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling

EXPERIENCE

I have been working in private practice at The Banbury Therapy Centre as a therapeutic counsellor for the last six years as well as supporting victims of domestic abuse within the Oxfordshire domestic abuse service (ODAS), and also working to support those in the homeless pathway which has given me a lot of experience and knowledge of working with a wide range of mental health and psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, OCD, self-harm, trauma, bereavement and relationship difficulties.

Practice description

My integrative training allows me to draw from different theoretical approaches which gives me a flexibility in how I work, as I know everyone is different and has individual needs.  My aim in working with you is to provide a safe and consistent framework where you can explore the difficulties you are experiencing, to help raise awareness of both yourself and patterns of relating, with a view to increasing self-understanding, well-being and gaining greater agency over your life.

I can offer both short and long-term therapy and offer both online and face-to-face sessions in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
