Therapist - Bexleyheath

Bexleyheath DA6
Sessions from £50.00

Features

Availability

I have current availability for clients weekdays, evenings and Saturday mornings. I am offering sessions face-to-face local counselling rooms. Also online via TEAMS or by telephone. Sessions are 50 minutes in length in all formats. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified integrative therapist trained in face to face, online and telephone counselling and clinical supervision.

At the core of my practice is an integrative framework. This involves psychodynamic, person centred, cognitive, existential and transpersonal approaches. This framework allows me to be flexible and sensitive to your individual needs. Above all, it is the relationship between the client and counsellor that counts, so I provide a safe, warm and non-judgemental therapeutic space. The client/counsellor relationship is a collaboration and although I may not have the answers to your issues, together we can work through them hopefully with a positive outcome.

Effective therapy is about working with you, the client, to find resolution and strategies that will not only help in the short term, but will provide you with resources they can use throughout your life.

Practice description

I offer a non-judgemental, confidential, professional service and work within the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) guidelines.

I have spent a significant period of time working within the charity sector and NHS. I have experience in a variety of specialised areas including substance misuse, bereavement, end of life, sexual violence and related trauma. I also have experience working with a range neurodiversity related issues.

These experiences have benefitted my private practice counselling. They have given me a deeper understanding of some of the specific challenges people can face. I work at your pace especially when it is trauma related, as your safety is paramount.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, I work in accordance with their ethical framework and professional conduct procedure.

I work with clients face to face, online and over the telephone. I have trained in the different formats as I was aware that each have different skill sets and I believe the client should be made aware of them. This is discussed in the first session or initial contact.

My first session

I understand how daunting it can feel accessing therapy (especially with somebody you haven’t met before) so I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to make the process as comfortable as possible. This is an informal chat for me to find out a bit more about what you are hoping to gain from counselling to ensure my skills and experience are aligned with this. It will also give you the opportunity to get a sense of how we might work together and ask any questions you may have to help you decide if you would like to proceed with an initial appointment.

If you want to proceed with me, during our first session, we will go over the counselling agreement to ensure we both understand the arrangements and boundaries of the sessions. This is for the safety of both parties.

The rest of the time will be for us to start exploring whatever you choose to bring in order to gain a deeper understanding of how it is impacting you. We will look at your goals and expectations for the sessions. I work at your pace.

We will regularly review how the therapy is going and when the time feels right, we can work towards an ending. This means you have the choice to work with me for as long as you choose in line with your personal needs and preferences.

Supervisor - Bexleyheath

Bexleyheath DA6
Sessions from £50.00

Features

  • Concessionary rates

Availability

I have current availability for supervisees weekdays and evenings. I facilitate sessions online via TEAMS or by telephone. Sessions can be booked for an hour (£50) or 90 minutes (£75) for qualified counsellors and £45 an hour for trainees. Online group rates (up to three supervisees) are negotiable.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified integrative therapist (level 5) trained in face to face, online and telephone counselling and clinical supervision (level 6).

My supervision work based around Hawkins and Shohet's Seven Eyed Model and Stoltenberg and McNeill's Integrative Developmental Model amongst others.

The aim of supervision is to provide a safe, supportive space in which individuals engage in critical and personal reflection in order to raise issues, explore problems and feel comfortable enough to explore areas of practice that can be improved. Also a space to challenge any blind spots, discover new ways of working and reflect on ways to improve professional ethical practice. I believe this helps prevent burnout to qualified therapists and trainees and also become better therapists.
