About me and my therapy practice

Counselling is a space where we can talk freely about what’s hurting us. A place to be heard, seen and understood. A place where we can work though and process what’s been happening to us and explore our options.

I work with individuals, couples and polyamous relationships, LGBQTIA+ and GSERD. I’m trained and experienced in Neurodiversity, abuse, attachment, anxiety, stress, anger, trauma and depression.

I have a lot of experience, psychotherapy tools and ideas that I can share with you. What I bring may help give a different perspective. I have “tools” or ideas/techniques to help you navigate your way through your difficulties. I have experience in understanding relationship patterns, trauma, abuse, grief…addictions and the impact and pain these bring. Talking can really help, sharing what’s going on for you can help the weight you carry become lighter.

I’m trained in Relationship Therapy, Psychodynamic, CBT, Person Centred,  Transpersonal, Systems, Attachment and Gender Sexual and Relationship Diversity. I would work very openly with you in my thoughts about psychological theories, because I believe when you know the theory, life begins to make a bit more sense. Understanding the “why” of what we do…and how it was helpful to us once….but perhaps isn’t now, can often be the key that unlocks a door so we can find some “wriggle room” in our problems or a way through a really tough situation.

Choosing a counsellor who you can work with is important. Meeting me once doesn’t mean you have to stay if you don’t want to.

I’d love to support you if your going through difficult times and work with you to find resolutions to your problems. The future can be a positive place of hope, but sometimes we have to pay attention to the pain of the present to create change.

Practice description

I explore how we feel about ourselves in relation to the world or in relation to a partner and how we can think better of ourselves and achieve/be who we want to be.

Often attachment to our earliest caregivers lays down our pattern of relating to the world. Sometimes trauma, loss, illness and difficulties can  influence us into unhelpful ways of relating to ourselves and others.

As we develop self awareness of our own behaviour and thinking patterns we can start to identify which behaviours and thoughts are useful to us, and what isn’t. This is the place where we find our future can be a positive place and we can develop resilience, emotional strength and good awareness of our boundaries and how they can protect us and others.

My first session

For the first session I charge a discounted rate of £35 and you can decide if you want to work with me. Then it’s £50. If this is a problem we can talk it through.

For couples counselling the fee is £60 and I’d like to chat with each of you individually first and then meet together…

I do offer concessions so please get in touch.

It’s really important to find a counsellor who you feel you can work with and be vulnerable with, and if it’s not me please look for another and don’t give up.

I work openly with clients and explain ideas and theories, and ask for feedback as to how the sessions are working and what you need from me…it’s important to know you can trust your counsellor enough to say “I don’t agree with that…”
