About me and my therapy practice

Hi, my name is Kirsten, I am an integrative counsellor currently working in the Scarborough and Hull area.

Starting counselling can feel like a daunting task, but it doesn’t need to be, I pride myself on being relaxed, approachable and non-judgemental.

Finding a counsellor with whom you feel you can be yourself is a vital part of your healing journey, and I endeavour to make you feel comfortable as you explore painful parts of your history.

I find my own history allows me to engage with my clients with empathy and understanding, throughout my training and education, I have learnt ways to feel more in control of my thoughts, feelings and actions, which I feel gives me a great base to becoming an effective counsellor and human.

I believe my clients have the capacity to grow and to flourish by being exactly who they are given the right conditions, which I feel is a huge privilege to be by your side on your journey to becoming yourself again.

I am available for work online, face-to-face and over the telephone.

I have over 500 hours of experience working with individuals referred from Occupational health, GP, DWP and victim support.

Practice description

I am trained as an integrative counsellor, bringing person-centred, transactional analysis, phychodynamics, gestalt and attachment theory into my work to allow for more than a "one fits all" solution to each clients. I believe therapy should be as individual as you!
