About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I'm Kelly, I work as an integrative Counsellor who believes in creating a comfortable space where you can be yourself. My approach is all about building a genuine connection with you. I use a mix of techniques from different counselling styles that I have qualified in, tailoring each session to what works best for you.

I like to keep things focused on you—your goals, your reflections. You won't find a one-size-fits-all approach here. I make counselling a collaborative and interactive experience. We'll have conversations, explore together, and I'll challenge anything that might be holding you back.

My approach is flexible and it really does depend on the client, and how they present on the day, and I welcome anyone considering therapy to take advantage of the free consultation phone call I offer, to ask any questions.

Practice description

My Practice:

I am a registered member of the BACP, and abide by all their standards and ethics, including regular supervisions, and CPD to further my knowledge and enhance my practice.

Qualifications:

MSc in Counselling, including Psychology based modules of Applied Behavioural Analysis

MSc in Forensic Psychology

BA (hons) Psychology

Experience:

I have working in numerous mental health roles for various departments in the NHS and Private Practice since 2013. I have a lot of experiences working with individuals who have ASD and their families. I have also worked with primary care patients in the community.

The Space:

In practical terms I am based in a very central location, good bus and train services, and plenty of parking close by.

The space is wheelchair assessable, and I am happy to check measurements for none standard equipment. We have assessable toilet facilities and I am happy to offer a drink.

Inclusivity:

As I work with many clients who have sensory issues, I am able to adapt my space. I can change lighting, temperature, smells, textures, remove ticking clocks and I have a few fidget toys to interact with. If you have any sensitives please let me know, and I will do my best to manage the environment accordingly.

My first session

I offer a free 15 minute phone call for any clients, with no obligation to book a further session.

The first session is usually strange, you are sat with a new person, disclosing personal, and often difficult or painful things. It is normal to feel anxious and uncomfortable with this, and I will do my best to help you manage this, and feel at ease.

I will ask relevant questions in the first session, this is often for context, or to further my understanding of you.
