About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Delyth,

I was actually in IT and retail for many years before I decided to retrain and become a counsellor and get back to my first love of psychology and the mind.

As a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor, I like to work with my clients in a more holistic and personalised way. It's definitely about the body:mind:soul connection for me.

I feel the journey towards healing begins with understanding our true self. Sometimes in life, for whatever reason, we can lose ourselves along the way, due to internal or external factors.

I would like to help you recognise your underlying problems, fully realise your strengths and help you to adjust to this new mentally healthier and stronger you. It's all about awareness, accountability and also learning coping strategies that can work for you, and knowing that you can be in charge of your own healing.

I do believe that counselling is not just for the big traumas and life crises ... its also for the bothersome issues that can wear you down over time, I believe in the saying "if it matters to you then it matters" and I'd like to help you work through whatever it is.

After having my own counselling I can fully get what it's like to be on the other side of the couch, and appreciate one of the biggest steps can actually be the first contact ... and then following up on the reply. No offence is ever taken if this step is overwhelming and you ghost me - please never feel like you can't get back in touch.

By coming to counselling it can be like putting some control back into your hands, it's investing in yourself and can help put yourself back on track if you've lost your purpose. Sometimes it just takes a little courage and vulnerability in order to start the healing journey.

If you need help please reach out, start the conversation.

Practice description

My practice is called Best Self Therapy - with the tagline - 'Helping you be your best self'. (www.bestselftherapy.co.uk) & Find me too on Instagram @best.self.therapy

No two people are the same that's why the approach that I take is a highly personalised ...and refined to fit the needs of my clients. A more bespoke offering, I won't try to funnel you down through a route that's not for you.

As an Integrative Counsellor I like to start out with a person-centred approach and form a good relationship with my clients as this is where the trust grows ... and I also have a whole toolbox of other approaches at my disposal which can be incorporated into my practice depending on the issues you bring.

I can do short term or I can do long term therapy ... really all depends on what you the client needs and wants. We work together - just see me as your wingman.

Most of my counselling sessions are online via zoom.

If you are local to me on The Wirral I can do face-to-face, walk and talk or even home visits. Please get in touch for more info.

I bring a safe space - an empathic non-judgemental confidential ear - I just want to help you be the best version of yourself and I will be with you as you go through whatever it is you need to go through to reach that.

Counselling is not just the 50 minutes of the therapy session - it is the work that you the client does during the rest of the time that is important too and my aim is to make you more resilient and strong so that you can weather whatever life throws at you in the future.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute telephone or zoom online introductory session - it's a no-obligation consultation.

This is not a counselling session - it is just to see if we are a good fit, and to cover the why, what and how's of counselling if you've never been before.

Once you have decided to go ahead and have counselling with me, I will email a contract out and get you to sign it before we have our first actual counselling session.

I prefer an email first contact - as I don't answer calls if I'm in a therapy session.

Please have a look at my website for further information about me and my practice.

If you like what you see and you think I could help you on your mental wellness journey then please get in touch.
