About me and my therapy practice

Counselling can be helpful at any stage of life; perhaps you feel stressed, anxious, depressed or have a feeling that something just isn’t right, sometimes our minds are so busy, things can feel overwhelming. You may be dealing with current issues or past events: past experiences can stay with you for a long time and may be impacting on your present life. Life transitions such as reaching a significant age, a change in roles, adjusting to loss, or issues around your own identity can bring up a range of feelings and questions. Whatever the issue, if it’s bothering you it’s worth talking about. I offer a comfortable space where you can share whatever is on your mind, safe in the knowledge that what you share will stay between you and me. I will listen without judgement, so that you can be yourself and feel truly seen, heard and understood.

As an integrative counsellor I will warmly welcome you with respect and compassion to build trust at a pace that you feel comfortable with. Then, within the safety of the relationship that has been built, I will draw upon a range of techniques to create a more personalised approach to suit your needs. We can work together to explore and understand your thoughts, feelings and emotions, working through and processing events to make sense of your unique experiences. I will help you to have a deeper understanding of yourself, increasing your own ability to make changes, cope, and work towards your desired goals. Being alongside you on your journey of self-discovery, I will support you to consider your own needs and be your true, authentic self.

My previous roles in education, adult social care and counselling organisations, where I have supported a diverse range of individuals including those with learning disabilities, older adults, and those who are neurodivergent, has led me to believe that everyone is capable of change, growth and healing when they feel at ease to share and explore themselves with the support of another.
